BREWERIES
A trip to northwest Montana would not be complete without a visit to one of the many great breweries in our area. Only a few of our favorites are listed as there wouldn’t be room for them all!
Backslope Brewery – Located in Columbia Falls, less than 15 minutes from the Retreat, you will not be disappointed by a visit to this brewery and restaurant. Whichever of their brews you decide to try, be sure to pair it with one of the delicious dishes coming out of their kitchen, as they create their menu to compliment the quality of products in the brewery.
Bonsai Brewing Project – Located in Whitefish, about 30 minutes from the Retreat, Bonsai Brewing is another favorite stop. With a cozy taproom, spacious outdoor seating area, 10+ handcrafted ales, and a made-from-scratch food menu, this is another favorite of locals and visitors alike.
Flathead Lake Brewing– Located in Bigfork, about 35 minutes from the Retreat, Flathead Lake Brewing is a must stop if you are headed south of the retreat. The brewery overlooks the shores of Flathead Lake, the largest freshwater lake in the West. In addition to over 15 brews (some seasonal), the main floor includes the Pubhouse, a restaurant with a seasonal menu including daily specials, gourmet burgers, and pub fare. In 2019, they also opened the Cellar in the lower level where they offer Chicago-style deep dish pizza on music nights, and drinks and appetizers on other nights.
